Day Ten, April 7, 2008

Today was a pretty good day - I really am not feeling any differences yet - its a little disappointing.

Breakfast:
Breakfast Burrito and a cup of coffee

Lunch:
2 Frozen Burritos (warmed up of course) topped with salsa and colby jack cheese with handful of tortilla chips

Dinner:
Chicken and Dumplings and Salad

Snack(s):
Spice Cake (mini loaf)
Donuts
snack bag of cheetos and Jones soda

Other Stats:
Walked: 15,300 + steps
Drank: 6+, 8 oz glasses of water

How do you add exercise to your day when you feel like you already have way too much to do during the day? My mornings are packed and if one little thing takes too long I end up being "late" for work. And my evenings I am working on homework. I have an elliptical at home, but carving 30 mins out of my day is seeming too difficult. If any one is reading this - do you have any suggestions?

Day Nine, April 6, 2008

I remembered to put my pedometer on today!

Breakfast:
Bowl of Golden Puffs and a toasted PBJ

Sub-Sandwich (ham, chicken breast, pepperoni, cheese), salad - ice tea with lemon

Dinner:
Ham and cheesy Mashed potato sandwich and salad

Other Stats:

Drank: Alot of water - I was thirsty yesterday
Weight: 234.5 lbs (only half a pound of official weight loss so far - I think I need to exercise more and eat less)

Day Eight, April 5, 2008

Since I forgot to put my pedometer on yesterday - of course I forget to put it on today as well. Let's see if I can remember what I ate:

Breakfast:
4 Pancakes (made from scratch :) )

Lunch:
Hamburger, french fries, and baked beans

Dinner:
Summer Sausage, cheese, crackers, lil' smokies in blankets

Day Seven, April 4, 2008

It has been one week and this day did not go so well. I woke up late, so I ended up driving to work - once there I realized that I forgot my phone and pedometer. I do remember that I had a breakfast burrito and a cup of coffee for breakfast, chicken and dumplings for lunch, and I have no idea what I had for dinner. The key thing is I haven't eaten any fast food for a week - woo hoo.

Day Six - April 3, 2008

I thought I would have been caught up by this day and would be able to just post what I ate and the other stats so of course didn't keep track of anything. I do remember that I walked nearly 19,000 steps that day because I walked to work - walked home for lunch - walked my son to school, and then walked to pick him and then home. My wife says that I don't have a very reliable pedometer - which is probably true - but it still feels good to day I walked that many steps.

Day Five - April 2, 2008

I didn't keep very good track of what I ate today I did write down that I walked 12,400 + steps and drank 6, 8oz glasses of water. I will try to do better.

I found where I wrote down a snack - Popcorn, ice tea, jelly beans

Other Stats:
Walked: 13,800 + steps
Drank: 3, 8 oz glasses of water
Weight: 234

I didn't do so well with drinking water had too much liquid with lunch.

Day Two - March 30, 2008

I will be posting several times a day to catch up and so here is the stats for March 30, 2008:

Breakfast:
Breakfast Burrito and a cup of coffee (2 cubes of sugar and 2 tbls of creamer - classic)

Lunch:
Taco Rice Salad and a glass of tea with lemon

Dinner:
4 pancakes - made from scratch.

I didn't have as much activity today and I just realized that I kept track of my meals, but not the snacks in between those meals. Once I get caught up with my posts I will have to keep track of the snacks I am eating. I think the snacks are what are getting me.

Other Stats:
Walked: 5,750 + steps
Drank: 5, 8 oz glasses of water
Weight: 235 pounds

Sundays will be my official weigh in day. So today's weight will be considered my official starting weight.

Down-Size Me - Day One

I am starting a little late - okay almost a week late, but I wanted to document this journey with a little information about each day like how much water I drank, how many steps I took, and what I ate. I think this will help me see where I went wrong with my "diet" and of course keep me accountable. Here is the information for March 29, 2008:

Breakfast:
Oatmeal with brown sugar, sugar, and butter and a cup of coffee (2 cubes and 2 tbls of creamer)

Lunch:
Chicken strips and a salad with ranch, sunflower seeds, and croutons.

Dinner:
Big Kahuna Burrito with Sweet Pork from Costa Vida. Before you start judging I didn't consider this fast food for two reasons (1) all the ingredients to the burrito were fresh, cooked that day, and it was assembled when I ordered it. And (2) it was in honor of my brother who just got married a week before. We hadn't got to do a grooms men thing and so we went golfing and ate out afterwards.

Walked: 14,150+ steps
Drank 10, 8 oz glasses of water

I weighed in at 238 pounds and I would like to get down below 200 like I was in high school.
